Adopt a Pug (short coat)

Pug (short coat) Dog

Nalia the Dog needs a home

NEW INTAKE:  Nalia - female - approx 3 years old - 13.6 pounds - Pug mix

Reason for intake:  Nalia was dumped outside of Bossier City Animal Control during the freezing temperatures.   She was scared and freezing and would not let anyone get near her.  The staff at BCAC worked for two days trying to gain her trust and she would come just close enough to sniff their hands, but not close enough to grab.  They finally set a trap.  The following day we came to take pictures (as we do every Wednesday).  The staff told us about the little dog.   As we were leaving to go get some supplies to help trap her, we spotted her in the distance.  We decided to try to work on getting her.  After some time, we were able to get her corralled into a fenced area at BCAC... and well, the rest is history.  She's gone through stray hold and now she's with us.  She's a sweet little dog... very guarded, but very sweet.  She has had litters in the past, but that's all over with now.  She is heartworm negative and ready for her furever home that will help her become comfortable in a loving home.

More pics and a full write-up will be posted in the next few days.

Adoption fee $170, which includes microchipping and enrollment fee.

**IMPORTANT NOTES**

*All of our adoptable dogs are small, and they are never to be left outside alone, ever!  We only rehome our dogs to adopters that plan to have them as inside dogs and part of the family!   We do allow adopters with doggie doors, provided there is SECURE fencing.  There is no exception to this rule!

*NO SMALL CHILDREN!!  As with almost all the dogs at NR2R, young children or a very active household is not recommended.   Many of our dogs come to us BECAUSE of small children, thus we do not rehome our dogs to homes with babies or young children.  Even if the children are older, it would depend on the child AND the parent or parents.

*We do not guarantee that any of our adoptable dogs are housetrained.   While most should be easily trained, keep in mind that they live in a rescue where they have access to the outdoors all day and are inside at night.  Even if they were surrendered to us as housetrained, it doesn’t mean they will automatically be housetrained in your home.  Housetraining them should be easy in the right home with time, patience, and consistency.

*Only adopters with a responsible dog ownership history and excellent vet reference need apply.   If you bring this pet into your heart and home, you will receive in return many years of love, companionship, and loyalty.  That’s our guarantee.
